An iconic building on the busy North Street of Bedminster, Bristol. The Ashton Plaza cinema as it was know was built and opened in 1914. There seems to be little information regarding its history other than it closed sometime in the mid 50’s and then became a snooker hall and lower floor shop. It’s due to be converted into flats for summer 2008

Hi – what an interesting set of photos of the old Ashton Plaza cinema in North St, Bristol. We are starting to research a book solely about the development of the shops etc in this street, with photos and interviews with older residents. I am wondering if you would be happy for us to use one or two of these photos, with acknowledgement of course?

    Regards
